Q. For how long can Mr Merlin perform?
A. My two most popular formats are the 45 minute show, and the 1 ½ hour “Party Package” which also includes games, competitions and music; however I’m also happy to plan a bespoke appearance around your needs, from a 15 minute show up to a full afternoon extravaganza.

Q. Does Mr Merlin provide for the business/corporate sector?
A. Yes! If your company needs entertainment for customers or staff, at Promotional Days, Fun Days, Christmas Parties etc then Mr Merlin can tailor his performances around your individual event with as combination of static shows and strolling entertainment - including balloon modelling, “meet & greet” and “mix & mingle” entertainment.  Alternatively visit him at

Q. Does Mr Merlin cater for younger children's entertainment?
A. Yes! I regularly perform Children's Parties, Children's Entertainment, Children's Magic and Puppet Shows at pre-schools and nurseries, and Okey Dokey the Dragon is a firm favourite with 2 and 3 year olds.

Q. Does Mr Merlin cater for older children?
A. Yes! I can adjust the show to tailor it for children as old as 10 years old – or even older children by incorporating elements from the shows geared for adults. It even works well with a wide mix of ages. However, for the more mature child/teenager, I can offer ‘Magic Workshops’ where spectacular close-up magic is performed to small groups and then the children are taught how to perform a few tricks. This has proved to be very popular and a great variation from the bowling/cinema packages parents often plump for. See for further details.

Q. Can Mr Merlin provide party bags?
A. Currently, this service is not offered, but watch this space, however, for an extra charge, I can provide magic tricks at low prices, for all the children, or just the birthday child.

Q. My child is scared of clowns, does Mr Merlin dress up?
A. A bright and cheery jacket is worn, but no scary make up or wigs. J

Q. What areas outside Bournemouth does Mr Merlin cover?
A. I have performed all over the world with my show, and regularly travel to London, Chichester and Exeter. Subject to additional travel costs (please contact me for and exact quote) then distance is no object.

Q. I have a tiny living-room; will this be a problem? What about large halls?
A. With an enormous repertoire of routines to draw from, Mr Merlin is equally at home in smallest and largest venues. On a few occasions, I have been lucky enough to perform in large theatres for hundreds of children, and even in circus arenas as part of a show; the next day I might appear in someone’s living room with perhaps 5 children. But please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns.

Q. Does Mr Merlin perform Punch & Judy?
A. Yes! - complete with hand carved traditional puppets, but with more of the slapstick and less of the violence (The baby is not made into sausages!)

Q. Can we leave the children completely in Mr Merlin’s capable hands?
A. As much as I would like to offer a babysitting, I purely provide an entertainment service, and as children often need the help of a ‘grown up’ at least one adult is requested to stay with them. Adults who have seen the show in the past often remark how entertained by it they were, so by staying, you never know how much fun you’ll have.
